Mrs. George Burkitt was apâ€" pointed until the Spring meeting of the F.W.I.O as Representative on the Board of Governors of the Ontario Federation of Agriâ€" culture. Other appointments were: Canadian Radio and TV Evaluation, Mrs. Clifford Gillespie; Ontario Welfare Society, Mrs. E. L. Felion; Canadian Screening Estimates of Selected Entertainment Films, Miss Ethel Chapman. Entertainment The Hon. W. A. Goodfellow, Minister of Agriculture. welcomed the officers and board WIN'IER 1953 members of the F.W.I.O. at a dinner held in the library of the Royal York Hotel, when they were guests of the Ontario Department of Agriculture. Mr. Goodfellow said that members of the Women‘s Institutes wield a great influence, not only among the rural women. but among all women. He said he would like to see more women enter public affairs, He also reiterated a previous statement that there is only room for one farm organization in Ontario. and that the farmers should choose whichever one they want and work for unity. He asked the mem- bers present to help their husbands choose well. Mr. Goodfellow paid tribute to Miss Helen McKcrcher and her staff.
