The hall is maintained and given, rent free, for the use of the Home and School Association, Girl Guides, Athletic Society and Road Commissioners. The play ground is open to the public. Tarentorus placed a book in the library in memory of a deceased member; gave ABC Traffic Rules books for colouring to the pupils in the junior room and sent gifts to an “adopted grandmother” in the Home for the Aged. Orangeville and Arnprior gave rather unusual school prizesuclonations to the high school student with the highest standing in home economics. Women's Dun- ning in North Cochrane gave a tooth brush to every child starting to school. Spry pro- vided free dental care for school children. Wiarton sponsored a class in fancy skating. Alleniord gave flower seeds to the school children and arranged a flower show in the fall. Princess Anne put swings for children in the park and sent a child to camp. Loch- winnoch members scrubbed the school and we gather from their report that they had something to do with a dental clinic. Lee Valley supplied cod liver oil to school children and provided dental care and transportation to the dentist for all local children. Queen Elizabeth gave large flags to two schools. Wharnclifi'e bought toys for poor children at Christmas time. And Walkerton Young Wo- men's Evening Institute provided toys and dressing gowns for the children’s ward in the local hospital. Stamford Evening Group carry on their own library for the children of the community having it open once a week. Orkney provided sports equipment for the school and were instrumental in getting a rhythm band organâ€" ized. Earlton is working toward getting a school nurse. Sunday Creek gave sports equip- 27
