The following have either een reported to us or we have gathered them rom the press: THE Caledon Women’s Institute in Peel County celebrated its fiftieth anniversary vith a banquet. The guest speaker was Mrs. E. Houck of Brampton, recent Canadian elegate to United Nations. The only living charter member and first secretary-treasurer, rs. Snook of Toronto, was present and read the Minutes of the first meeting of January 11, 1906. At Grimsby’s fiftieth anniversary luncheon, rs. Arthur Rowland spoke on Pioneer omen. Reading of the minutes of the first heating was shared by four members of the earliest days. An interesting note reported at Galt’s fif- Jeth anniversary was that under the capable leadership of the first officers the membership grew from 20 to 85 the first year. A toast to the Institute was proposed by one of the first members, Mrs. J. R. Smith. Mrs. R. D. Hendry, a member and also a member of the provincial board, thanked Mrs. Smith and on behalf of the Institute presented her with a silver Scotch thistle brooch.
