The photograph was taken at Ramsay Institutes Alenlh un- niversory party, the occasion of Mrs. Kelly‘s first public appearance in four years, following an illness. Terrace Hill for their March meeting had a St, Patrick’s Day party at the “Widows' Home", They report that. it was their outâ€" standing program "because it gave so much happiness to others.“ Oak Hill also said its best meeting was held at the “Widows’ Home". (Is there a suggestion here that more Institutes might take one of their monthly meetings to their County Home? # Ed). Moyleâ€"Tranquility reports a home talent program with each member responsible for twa minutes‘ entertainment. Tyendinaga East: a program on the place of women in the home and a fashion parade with the men acting as models, Port Alma and Glenwood: a friend- ship tea, entertaining three neighbouring branches and having a talk by the board member on what other Institutes are doing. Ravenswood: also a “friendship teaâ€, each member bringing a guest. The District Presi- dent spoke on “What the Institute means to me". Cherry Valley: a friendship meeting entertaining a group of women interested in starting an Institute of their own. McDonald’s Corners: an “auction sale†meeting with two neighboring branches attending. Clayton: a meeting for the grandmothErs and young mothers together. Culloden reports their out- standing meeting “when husbands were in» vited and took part in the programâ€"everyone enjoyed the meeting. Bornholm: a lively de~ bate, “Resolved that the people of ï¬fty years ago enjoyed themselves more than the people of today.†Bloomingdale had a hobby night with members demonstrating their hobbies. Galetta had a homemade valentine contest. Friendly Corners reports that a demonstration in making a snow man led to many houses sporting snow men in their yards during the Christmas season. We have already mentioned the Institutes' interest in and support of girls’ homemaking clubs.
