@ Oxford District Congratulations to Anya Donaldson who was presented the Woman of Excellence Fair Award on the opening night ofthe 156th Embro Fair in 2014. Anya became interested in submitting entries at the local fair as a teenager. In high school, she began entering and saving her prize money which she put towards her tuition for nursing school. Anya completed her nursing degree, married and moved from Calgary to Ontario where she would later rekindle her interest in fair involvement. Anya entered at the local fairs and, as a WI Member, used her creative skills to set up exhibits following the fair themes. Anya works diligently, encouraging young people in her area to compete in the Embro Fair Ambassador Competition. Braemar WI (Southern Area) sponsors a competitor almost every year and can claim fame to many winners. In recent years, she helps as a volunteer on judging day at the Embro Fair.
