Reid’s Corners WI r Reid‘s Corners WI (Bruce % County District, Greyâ€"Bruce - Area) celebrated their 100th Anniversary in 2013. As part of their celebration, they chose to continue their sharing philosophy through the donation ofthe Learning Chair installed in the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens‘ future outdoor Living Wall classroom. JOB WELL DONE The Institute‘s most notable initiative is the ROSE Program - Rural Ontario Sharing Education - which works to increase awareness and expand skillsets of Members and community. "The Learning Chair was a perfect ï¬t for their organization", said Lynne Taylor, President ofthe BBFG. The walls have not yet been built around the space so the chair is openly visible. Made by Elmer Brubacher in the true reclamation spirit of the Gardens, the chair is built of a potato harvester, tractor wheels, a fly wheel and is edged with horseshoes. The piece of art illustrates the importance of agriculture in the lives of those in the community, wonderful cultural connections, and the importance of sharing experiences. Once the classroom has been built, the space will provide opportunities to share life experiences, wisdom, questions, ideas both old and new, celebrate with others, and showcase regional talents.
