ABOVE: The ladies get busy making their greeting cards! Leeds District Leeds District WI (Kingston Area) held a ROSE Session at a longâ€"term care facility in Athens with 21 people in attendance. The morning speaker was Dr. Pat Greenhorn, a Dentist, whose topic was "Healthy Mouth, Healthy Aging." She discussed how poor dental hygiene, tooth infections and gum disease can cause problems in the rest of the body. Everyone received toothpaste and a special toothbrush. The motto: "TWO FOR TWO.†Brush twice a day for two minutes! The afternoon session brought out the artistic talents in everyone! Connie Ginder of Philipsville WI instructed and Jean Dowdall of Fairï¬eld WI assisted the ladies in making 5 different greeting cards. A great day of education, friendship, and fun was had by all! M¢a§rï¬03£EJ ‘ ’ Simcoe East District Twentyâ€"eight Members of Simcoe East District (Simcoe Area) gathered at the Severn Bridge WI Community Hall for an afternoon offun and games â€" including a hat competition! Each lady told the story of her creative hat and Life Member, Ethel Mallett (97 years), was the winner. "I put everything on my hat that I could ï¬nd around my house," said Ethel. Money was raised from a silent auction and cash placed in a "money jar†was donated to the District’s Foster/Brown Bursary. Every year, this bursary is awarded to a graduate at each Secondary School in Orillia and Gravenhurst. Refreshments were served by West Shore WI, who hosted this very lively and enjoyable "Fun Day." Seated is Ethel Mallett. . ‘5.;' Chapman WI The Members of Chapman WI (Trent Valley Area) hosted an etiquette-themed ROSE Session in conjunction with their 60th anniversary celebration. They were shown how to set a table properly, as well as decorating tips for the four seasons. Lunch was served to nearly 40 attendees and music was provided by the |0cal Lions Club.
