On My Mind ~ By F WIO President Carol Innes THE HORSE AND THE CART Once upon a time, there was a very energetic woman who had a VISION. She went about the countwside speaking about her VISION. Soon other people picked up the VISION and started to form groups where they would meet and put the VISION into action. This kept happening until the VISION was found in a large area. Some of the women of the VISION thought they should have a horse to give them leadership. They thought that with a horse they could work better together to accomplish more of what the VISION meant. And so this happened. The women looked afterthe horse well, brushing, feeding choice feed, braiding the mane and tail. They didn’t have to provide stabling or clean it as that was provided for the horse. Eventually the women found a very old cart and thought that it would be a wonderful thing to have. They could take people for rides in it. Then the provider of the horse’s stall turned the horse out and the women had to find a place for the horse - which they did. The old cart was very old and needed paint and cushions which some of the women did and they also made up the cushions. The cart was painted bright colours and the horse enjoyed pulling the cart and giving the people rides. The women tending the horse were having a tough time to get new women to help them and the women looking afterthe cart kept on having fun with the cart to the point that they forgot that ALL ofthe women who were members of the VISION owned the cart. The cart began to need major repairs. The axles on the wheels started to break. The cushions became tattered from so much use and needed to be replaced. The wheels also needed new tires and the cart needed another paintjob. Meanwhile some ofthe members ofthe VISION began to dislike the horse and refused to support those who tended the horse. The horse was put behind the cart to see if it could push the cart back into service. Of course this couldn’t be done because the horse only knew how to pull. 1. What is the horse? 2. What is the cart? 3. As a member ofthe VISION what is your responsibility? lua’a‘lfLVLQEJ ‘ ’ Waxy?“ DID YOU KNOW?
